Geo-Research Scholars Meet 2026 India
The Geo-Research Scholars Meet, will be hosted by the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, India
About the conference: The Geo-Research Scholars Meet, hosted by the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, has thrived for nearly a decade, fostering collaboration among early-career geoscientists and enabling them to provide a platform for sharing their latest research. This year, in 2026, following the concept “world is one family”-Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the Wadia Institute plans to explore its transition into an international level, which will have a “hybrid” format, with both in-person (for Indian) and virtual (for Foreigner) participations, having the bigger objective of fostering fundamental geoscience research, as well as applied research that addresses the key societal and environmental challenges. The meet typically follows a structured, multi-day format that combines plenary talks, technical sessions (oral/poster/e-poster), application workshops, and a one-day field excursion in the foothills of the Himalaya. The meet provides an avenue for international collaboration, high-quality scientific exchange, and publication in indexed journals. Submissions from all areas of the Geosciences are warmly welcomed.
Theme: AVANI: Advancing Vision by Analysis, Networking and Innovation aims to reflect a shared commitment to helping keep the Earth habitable. Studying the Earth, as one of the important elements, the Earth (अवनि -in Sanskrit) that spans the field of geodynamics, tectonics, palaeontology, geochemistry, sedimentology, geobiology, palaeoclimate, geomorphology, seismology and other aspects, is paramount in shaping the Earth. And equally important is gaining knowledge from the field, the laboratory and/or from numerical simulation.
