Coastal & Marine Processes

CMP

The World’s oceans and coastlines are natural environments unique in their composition and in the bio-physical processes affecting them. The overall aim of the Coastal and Marine Processes Commission is to encourage and support innovative research focused on the climatic and anthropogenic processes which drive Quaternary variations in coastal and marine environments.

HABCOM

The Humans and Biosphere Commission fosters problem-oriented study of the effects that changes in Quaternary climates and palaeoenvironments have had on organisms (individuals, communities, species), as well as the relationships between humans and their environment.

PALCOM

The remit for this Commission is to optimise the use of palaeo-data for detailed climatic reconstructions. The overall objective is to enhance understanding of Quaternary climatic perturbations, transitions and abrupt events.

SACCOM

Devoted to the study of the Quaternary Period through Quaternary stratigraphy and chronology. It provides a forum for Quaternary scientists to discuss and establish stratigraphical investigations and classification throughout the World.

Terrestrial Processes, Deposits & History

TERPRO

Promotes and supports research on Quaternary topics related to terrestrial environments and history, especially in areas that investigate new frontiers in science and incorporate multiple and cross-disciplinary research efforts, multi-national research and involve developing countries.
